- Join Feeding America to help the 1 in 8 Americans who face hunger each day. To find a food bank near you visit http://feedingamerica.org/foodbank-results.aspx. Or, support urban farming, which seeks to cover the gaps in food deserts and improve nutrition.
- Women’s average pay still dramatically trails men’s wages, with women making 80.5 cents for every dollar earned by men in 2017. As a result, women are far more likely to live in poverty than men, particularly single mothers. Join the call for pay equity by fighting for the passage of the Fair Pay Act. The bill would require equal pay for equivalent work. For example, a company could not pay jobs typically held by men at a higher rate than jobs typically held by women if those jobs are equivalent in value to an employer.
